Junior Mechanical Engineer / Surveyor (Lifting Equipment) GBP28-30k + Company Car / allowance, overtime, double pension, 25 days holiday, life assurance, flexible benefits South West The Opportunity: A world leading professional services company who support businesses with quality & compliance in order to me various industry regulations are looking for an Junior Mechanical Engineer / Surveyor (Lifting Equipment) to carry out high quality inspections ensuring various lifting equipment is compliant with current regulatory and statutory requirements. You will operate within agreed authorities, inspection and H&S standards with a clear customer focus and drive to achieve optimal service delivery. This unique opportunity gives an engineer with minimal hands on maintenance experience the opportunity to become a fully trained competent engineering surveyor who inspects and tests various industrial equipment at customers sites to industry standards. To begin with this role will be known a Category 3 (CAT 3) Engineering Surveyor with a view to fast tracking to Category 2 (CAT 2) within 12 months. The main difference being that initially you will be limited to the type and size of the customers equipment you will be inspecting to aid with training & development and a smooth transition into full CAT 2 surveying. This Junior Mechanical Engineer / Surveyor (Lifting Equipment) role is ideal for someone who has limited experience post qualifications however is looking to progress their career in to engineering surveying. Points of appeal: * Full 5-6 week intense training course to become competent surveyor * Fast track to Category 2 within first 12mths * Support all engineers with further education * Career progression to technical specialist or management * Flexible benefits scheme to suit individual needs Duties: * To begin with the Junior Mechanical Engineer / Surveyor (Lifting Equipment) will be inspecting equipment such MEWP's, chains, hoists, shackles, FLT's, slings, wire ropes, eye bolts, pallet trucks, stacker trucks, small plant equipment for defects * Ensure surveys and inspections are carried out within set time scales, in line with planned schedule * Provide, build and maintain excellent client relationships and ensure that all customer service standards are met. * Maintain an awareness of developments in standards and legislation affecting the Engineer Surveyor's discipline and support change as required. * Operate in line with company's Core Values and Code of Ethics * Maintain technical standards within business units to meet business plan measures, participating in Technical Competency Testing and Technical Audits (internal and external). * Work effectively with Area Managers and Regional Directors to ensure all Regions KPI's are met Essential: * A minimum NVQ3 or equivalent in Engineering qualification * Minimum 2 years post qualification experience with various lifting & small plant equipment * A current U.K. driving license. * Willing to travel if and when required Desirable: * Understanding of relevant legislation (LOLER, PUWER) * H.N.C/H.N.D or equivalent Engineering qualification * Worked for a crane or mobile plant company previously Junior Mechanical Engineer / Surveyor (Lifting Equipment) Cordant is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
