Junior Graphic Designer
Vickers Neal Recruitment are currently working with Elegant Clutter.
Based in Warwick, Elegant Clutter is an award winning designer, manufacturer and installer of artwork schemes to the restaurant, bar and hotel industries in the UK and Europe. The company is expanding and there is a new opportunity for a graduate/junior designer to take on an extremely varied and interesting role. This creative design role is not for the faint hearted. Most importantly you will be a super positive and motivated designer who wants to learn, grow and push yourself daily!
The company has a fast paced and creative environment with a design led approach and a passionate team. Working as part of this friendly and hardworking group, your role will be fundamental to its ongoing success and ability to deliver beautifully designed artwork for some of the biggest names in the industry.
Reporting to the Design Manager, the junior designer will combine excellent technical ability with a natural flair for artwork and design. Digital artwork skills are key but a talent for original art and hand drawn illustration will be advantageous. You will need to have the imagination to visualize how your work will best look on a variety of media and at various sizes, from a 10m wide wallpaper to a 20cm tall vase.
Key Responsibilities
Manipulation and generation of imagery using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
Preparation of images for in house and outsourced printing across various processes
Research of images, often historically pertinent
Work across various brands from the restaurant and hotel markets
Concept development and design of artwork
Research of new artists to add to in house print catalogue
Creative input for new artwork development
Supporting role to designers
Essential Skills
A good eye for design, detail and precision
Creative flair, originality and a strong visual sense
Strong research skills
Excellent team communication skills
Graphic Design, Illustration or Textile Design degree or equivalent design qualification
Excellent skills and experience of Adobe Creative Suite especially Photoshop and Illustrator
Original artwork interest/talent, sketching, painting etc
Understanding of setting up artwork for print
Time management skills and the ability to cope with several projects at a time
Being open to feedback and willing to make changes to your designs
Understanding of trends in the creative market place and bringing these ideas to the table
Demonstrate illustrative skills with rough sketches and working on layouts for print
