Person Specification - Psychology Graduate required: SEN Teaching Assistant
The successful applicant will be an imaginative graduate who has a good understanding of how to work with children based on experience gained from a similar role and earned a second class degree or better. We want to meet graduates who can relay information clearly and bring a positive attitude to the classroom. Your portfolio will include an unflappable energy and enthusiasm and an empathy for children with SEN. You will arrive with the skill to quickly build bonds and an empathetic approach. You will be using the knowledge gained from you psychology degree in a classroom environment.

About the Role - Psychology Graduate required: SEN Teaching Assistant
In this Primary Learning Support Assistant post you will be joining the school in a general role, not assigned to any particular class or department. This Primary Learning Support Assistant position involves assisting the general lesson by taking pupils for more focused individual sessions. This Primary Learning Support Assistant position involves working under the charge of a resolute SENCO who is your designated mentor. Part of your role will include preparing the classroom for the upcoming lesson by ensuring all resources required are available to use. Your responsibilities will include striving to improve your skills and knowledge from your first day and the school will offer first class support in this area through its well established and successful CPD sessions. This is a school who pride themselves on providing high quality support and assistance to all teaching staff whilst still giving you enough creative freedom to deliver your lessons in your own unique style. Soft play areas will be made available to you whenever you need it, this is a great chance for you to learn the best way to use them to benefit of your lessons. You will be working with children on a 1:1 basis or small groups.
