PHP Developer

Baton-Upon-Humber/Full-Time/GBP30-40k + Benefits

iSource IT are currently recruiting for a PHP Developer for one of our key clients based in Barton-Upon-Humber. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a fast-growing organisation where new ideas and the latest technologies are welcomed.

Role Overview:

As a PHP Developer, you will contribute to the agile development team working on new features which are written using Object Orientated (OO) PHP, MySQL, HTML5 and JavaScript. The successful candidate will be working in an environment that encourages learning and the advancement of your technical skills as a developer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain the organisations customer built, cutting edge applications which are Symfony2 based.
  • Write clean code that is clear and understandable by others
  • Contribute to project specifications and estimations
  • Contribute to all phases of the development life cycle
  • Work with Senior Developers, business stakeholders and development team to understand the initial scope for a new project

Experience Required:

  • At least 2 years' experience in creating and mainting Object Orientated PHP5 based systems.
  • Experience of working with MySQL 5+
  • Knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript and AJAX
  • Excellent communication skill - must be able to describe non-technical issues to a non-technical audience
  • Ability to work in an agile environment
  • Experience of using Version Control systems such as GIT as part of a team

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of the Symofny2, Symfony3 or equivalent framework
  • Knowledge of the Doctrine 2 ORM
  • Experience in maintaining RESTful APIs
  • Experience of automated testing (eg PHPUnit, Selenium, Behat)
  • Design patterns knowledge and practiclal experiences implementing them
  • Experience of working in a continous integrations environment
  • Familiar with Linux or Mac OS
  • Experience of retail and/or manufacturing environments and processes
