The Role Edif ERA are looking to recruit a Principal Consultant to lead our established and expanding Bristol Power Systems Team. The Power Systems Team Lead will focus predominately on Power sector programmes for a wide variety of clients and as the driving force behind our multi-discipline Service Line contribute heavily to the continued success of the Power Engineering Business Unit. This role presents a fantastic opportunity for a Principal Consultant keen to lead a successful team whilst engaging their skills on a range of Power programmes. With the support of the Business Development Team you will plan for and drive growth of the Service Line, exercising your technical, commercial and leadership abilities and work to build upon the strength of our enviable client relations. The role will require UK travel to support client programmes onsite. Key Responsibilities Providing Consultancy services across a wide variety of Power Engineering programmes Managing, assisting and advising on Power Engineering programmes and tasks across the team, ensuring programmes are delivered within budget and timescales Contributing to the Business Unit and Service Line strategy and planning cycles Delivering Service Line Fiscal performance Monthly reporting to the Business Unit Director, KPI accountability eg: revenue, utilisation, budgets and forecast High levels of client engagement to build strong client relations and account management activities Responsible for the leadership, management, support, development and recruitment of the Bristol Power Systems Team Collaboration with the Business Development and Marketing Teams to deliver Business Development campaigns Supporting and managing Service Line bids, proposals, analysis and report writing Skills, Experience & Qualifications Expert knowledge and experience of providing Power Engineering Consultancy services at Principal level coupled with a wealth of Power sector knowledge gained from extensive industry experience Strong programme management experience to manage complex Power programmes their resources and budget Knowledge of current issues / developments within the Power Engineering field and how they impact our services Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills with success in solving complex Power sector issues Commercially astute, able to develop a clear understanding of the economics of the business and our processes to lead and prepare major winning and persuasive proposals of great complexity and value Strategic awareness, able to take the lead and work strategically towards goals managing pressure and delays Highly developed report writing skills producing the highest quality work, setting high standards for others to follow Strong customer awareness, drawing upon expertise to provide solutions delivered to an excellent quality standard An effective leader with success in leading teams, a role model, mentor and technical expert focussed on team success Experienced in workforce planning, recruitment activities and staff development A keen eye for Business Development, ensuring high personal/team utilisation, promoting services and securing projects Electrical Engineering / technical degree, a higher degree or power systems qualification would be an advantage Chartered Engineer status of a relevant institution would be an advantage Behavioural Competencies Teamwork & collaboration: Quickly establishes effective internal and external contacts, relates to people at all levels, sets standards and makes a strong positive impression Self-management: Prioritises and works smart with high levels of accountability for large and complex projects, sets objectives considering changing circumstances, results orientated, delivers on promises and acute attention to detail Effective communication: Relied upon to demonstrate professionalism at the highest level, a great negotiator, articulates opinions, information and presentations in a credible and engaging manner Motivation & drive: High levels of drive, energy and vision providing a motivational impression on others, ensures high levels of utilisation through pro-actively seeking work with increased responsibility and influence within the business For critical industries and environments world-wide, Edif ERA provides engineering and consultancy services to reduce risk, optimise performance and enhance capability, giving our customers in defence and security, energy, industry, and transport sectors the confidence to build successful operations.
