About the role
You will be responsible for managing all site-wide services in respect of property management with the aim of ensuring a suitable and safe working environment for employees, customers and visitors. You will also ensure the efficient and effective resourcing and coordination of the Incident Ground including the vehicle fleet and all Fire Ground activities.

In March 2013 the College moved from government ownership to Capita in order to secure future investment. Under Capita the College is maintained as a pioneering facility for the fire and rescue services both in the UK and overseas.
What you will do:
* Lead a talented group of approximately 40 professionals across 2 teams
* Take ownership of site strategy and liaise with key group stakeholders
* Be a key membership of SHE (Safety Health Environment) workgroup and the Senior Management Team
* Produce routine reporting of departmental progress, finances, issues and risks (to include briefing Exec Board as required)
* Negotiate with contractors and suppliers and ensure contractor management systems are robust, efficient and adhered to
* Ensure all facilities meet Government Regulations, Building Regulations, Environmental, Health, Safety and Security Standards
* Deliver and maintain a clear College communications plan for all Operations staff, driving improved flow of necessary information and high speed of decision making
Your experience will include:
* Current experience of successfully managing and leading a large team
* Strong contract management experience, preferably within facilities management
* Working knowledge of building services and Health & Safety regulations, ideally within a large site environment
* Proven ability to forecast and control budgets
* Exceptional problem solving and decision making skills
* Excellent communication and negotiating skills
