Job Summary We are currently looking for an Infection Control Lead Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team at Emersons Green NHS Treatment Centre in Bristol on a part time basis. We only treat NHS patients and we're focused on providing the best possible, personalised care to the people of Bristol, Bath, North and North East Somerset, and South Gloucestershire, as well as to the wider community, including Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. We offer day case and in-patient surgery across the following areas: dental surgery, ear, nose and throat procedures, endoscopy, general surgery, gynaecology, minor orthopaedic surgery, diagnostic imaging, pain management, ophthalmology, and urology. Responsible To Clinical Governance Manager Qualifications ??? NMC Registered Nurse ??? Infection Prevention and Control qualification Key Responsibilities You will be accountable for the operational and clinical delivery of the infection control service across the Emersons Green and Devizes Treatment Centres; establishing and leading an effective infection control team of Link practitioners. You will be expected to provide expert clinical advice and leadership for the infection control service to support the Head of Nursing and Clinical Services to protect patients from the risk of acquiring Health Care Associated Infections (HCAI). The role requires you to work across both sites and particularly with the Infection Control Teams at the Treatment Centres, liaising with Microbiologists, Consultants and the Link Practitioners for Infection Control. In addition, you will be required to assure the Head of Nursing and Clinical Services that the necessary actions are in place to meet the requirements of the Health Act 2012 and the Care Quality Commission 5 domains of care.
