Eden Scott's client is a technology business based in Newcastle City Centre who are interested in appointing an Accountant who will have site level responsibility for the stewardship of the business.
You are expected to support a Regional Finance Director and partner senior budget holders at site level and form part of the Senior Management Team (SMT).
Role Overview
Responsible for the preparation, development and analysis of key financial information to ensure that an organisation's management makes well-informed decisions to ensure future stability, growth and profitability.
Assist in establishing and maintaining financial policies and management information systems, as well as provide a high quality support service by liaising with management colleagues on all aspects of finance.
The role combines accounting skills with business management skills;
* Support the integration of new business and ongoing organisational development
* Preparing monthly management accounts, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries
* Providing a support service by working with all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions
* Ensuring spending is kept in line with the budget
* Analysing financial performance and contributing to medium and long-term business planning/forecasts
* Monitoring and evaluating financial information systems and suggesting improvements where needed
* Implementing corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal controls
* Provide ad hoc financial analysis as requested
To be considered for this role you will be;
* A fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
* Management Accounting experience with familiarity of job costing or project accounting
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular of Excel
* Experience of SAP accounting software is desirable but experience of complex financial systems is essential
* You will be a proactive and enthusiastic self-starter with the ability to operate with devolved authority
* The ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial people
* You will have a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems
* You will be able to plan work and then re-prioritise and adapt as required
* Must be willing to accept responsibility and show attention to detail
