The Candidate
You will have the following skills, experiences and attributes???
* Sound knowledge of continuous improvement techniques and quality systems
* HND or higher qualified in an Engineering discipline (ideally Mechanically-biased)
* Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing Techniques such as SMED, VSM, Poke Yoke, Kaizen etc.
* Demonstrated knowledge of Maintenance systems, techniques and TPM
* Ability to set and maintain high standards
* Knowledge and experience of Lean Manufacturing and Practical Problem solving
* Experience in leading cross functional teams
* Self starter
* Excellent communication and people skills
* Experience of working within a unionised environment
The Role
Working in a small Engineering team, your duties will include???
* Improve the manufacturing processes with the intention of reducing waste, emissions, quality losses, manufacturing costs,
* To motivate and lead the deployment of improvement activities across the Operations area including the use of TPM and Kaizen events.
* To support, execute upon and deliver process improvement projects to agreed costs and timelines
* Support the location Operational Management Team on improved Quality standards
* Support the location Operational Management Team to identify and action customer service improvement opportunities
* To work identify and deliver upon working capital improvement opportunities especially with regard to inventory holding levels - working with the product management team
* Support the Engineering team on capital expenditure projects
* Training and education of plant supervision on improvement initiative.
