Talendrone.com is looking for Datacentre Break/Fix Hardware Support Engineers in Portsmouth, UK for one of our esteemed client.

Here is Job Description:

• Location : Portsmouth, UK

• Job Type: Permanent
• Salary: GBP20K-GBP26K / Year

Main thing is to focus on Dell X86 Hardware exposure (install / manage / Config skills are all great to have to be able to troubleshoot these devices) and IBM AIX . Oracle and Linux exposure is desirable as client presume a lot of the OS candidate will work on will be SUN / Unix .

Responsibilities are:

• Troubleshoot and diagnose server hardware faults and liaise with various resolver teams, both internally and externally, to remotely support the resolution of all incident tickets within SLA.
• Office hours are 9:00am-5.30pm with an on-call rota that you will be involved in every other week.

Skills and Experience:

• Experience of working within live Data Centre environments, with exposure to hardware installation, management and configuration essential.
• Have strong practical knowledge of IBM AIX and Dell X86 Server Hardware and Operating Systems to remotely troubleshoot incidents and diagnose hardware issues/failures to resolution within SLA.
• Extensive familiarity with Windows Server OS and IBM AIX required. Oracle and Linux hardware exposure is desirable with SUN and Unix support capability advantageous.
• Ability to investigate and provide RCA to the business.
• Removal and installation of servers and other associated infrastructure hardware within or between Data Centre locations, to include the installation/replacement of server hardware components for
break/fix support or performance upgrade.
• Ability to manage own time efficiently when solo working.
• Must be able to pass a security check.
• Demonstrate good communication skills with employees, contractors, suppliers and customers.
• Understanding of Data Centre Access Controls, Cabling and Networking Infrastructure.
