Our Client: An opportunity has arisen for a Service Centre Manager to manage the main Service Centre based in the Philippines with travel to a secondary site based in Indonesia. Headquartered in the UK a 150 year old global Manufacturing and Engineering company with a turnover approaching ???250 million focusing on industrial gearboxes, power transmission, rotating equipment and drive units that has grown organically year on year offering an excellent career opportunity to continue driving this organic growth across the world. The company offer a full design, build and repair/MRO/aftermarket service working across a variety of sectors including: defence, mining, oil and gas, marine, power generation, cement, water, paper, steel and general manufacturing/engineering to name a few. They are one of the market leaders in this industry sector with manufacturing facilities on every continent. Role: Reporting directly to the Regional Managing Director based in Australia, the successful candidate will be focused on the service and repair of industrial gearboxes, power transmission and associated products across South Asia. The candidate will be a team player that can apply a logical and analytical nature to their work. Someone who is customer focused, positive and willing to get stuck in will succeed in the business. The role needs someone who is self-motivated and that enjoys working in an autonomous environment. This opportunity will be instrumental in working across South Asia across the regional service centres to grow the service and repair function with existing and new customers. The role has three main aspects: In-house - working and managing the internal mechanical engineers to service and repair. Technical report writing and supplying accurateOnsite - Inspecting and recommending resolutions to any problems.Site Installation - Commissioning of serviced and repaired equipment. This role needs someone that understands the industrial gearbox and/or power transmission industry. What we are looking for: Due to the nature of this role the ideal candidate will have extensive experience within the service and repair function for an engineering/manufacturing business ideally within gearboxes and power transmission. The successful candidate will come from a technical background and will have ideally managed a number of mechanical engineers/fitters. This role is split between operational management and technical support. As one of the primary points of contact in South Asia working alongside the regional team of sales, purchasing and supply team you will be well supported to deliver the operational P&L for two service centres. The ideal candidate will have good interpersonal skills teamed with a technical background (Degree, HND, Apprenticeship, associated qualification or time served) in Mechanical Engineering. There is no need to speak any other languages as English is widely spoken and common throughout the Philippines and Indonesia. Experience within the Industrial Gears and/or Gearbox industry would be preferred, rotating equipment and power transmission will be looked upon favourably. However any other technical equipment service and repair function will be considered. Due to the nature of the role a minimum of 5 year's experience is necessary preferably working for an engineering/manufacturing company.
