The Shard is home to some of the best offices, restaurants and hotel rooms in the world - along with breath taking views. Welcome Hosts provide an outstanding Welcome to guests who are visiting some of the best restaurants in London. You will be working on the ground floor of The Shard, welcoming guests and VIPs to this exclusive environment. You own the first impression your guests have from The Shard, your customer service skills and personal presentation are expected to be outstanding. Due to the high security profile of the building the Welcome Hosts will perform bag searches and x-rayscanning, as well as the implementation of the restaurants dress code. What you will be doing To greet all visitors promptly, completing all related security procedures and offering all appropriate services to ensure guests experience a 5* visit Delivery of consistent seamless end to end service to guests from arrival to departure Effective communication with guests in a professional, courteous & friendly manner Receiving guests, and directing them to the designated restaurant lifts Facilitate smooth and effective communication with all internal departments, ensuring a seamless, unparalleled and incomparable service To attend both on site and external training courses and meetings as and when requested Escalate any concerns regard the service or area to both your line Manager and Security Management Maintain and practise a high degree of confidentiality and integrity To undertake any reasonable request from the supervisor, client or site manager To be flexible in approach to work patterns and systems to maintain the standards required To read all correspondence sent via daily handover in order to maintain good communication within the teamTo be aware of evacuation and emergency proceduresEnsure welcome area is well kept and maintained to a high standardMaintain a flexible and professional approach in dealing with all queriesAct as a brand ambassador of The Shard at all times Observe the dress code at all times Have knowledge of the departments and companies operating within the building including their structure and function in order to gain an understanding of the business as a whole Requirements Previous experience of working in a 5* customer service environment Computer Literate with knowledge of tablet software Clear, confident communication skills Attention to detail Customer service experience with the ability to provide a distinct visitor experience Enthusiastic, personable and bubbly personality is KEY Excellent personal grooming and presentation Ability to work shifts of 9.5 - 12 hours per day standing to including outside The Shard is an international environment and additional language skills are always a bonus All applicants must be able to work varying shifts including weekends and bank holidays. SIA license is desirable but training will be provided for all suitable candidates What we offer Ultimate is London's leading security and reception company. Our name is associated with prestige security and reception assignments and we provide excellent customer service. At The Shard we manage various services - including front of house, hosting, and security. You will be working for Ultimate Security and Reception Services at The Shard. 45 hours / week 07:00 - 16:30 and 16:30 - 02:00. Rotating in early and late shifts: 5 early shifts followed by 2 off. 5 late shifts by 3 off. 2 hour breaks which are paid (1 hour + 2 x 30 min) GBP 10.82 / hour (approx.
