A permanent Buyer job in central Birmingham paying circa GBP25,000 depending on experience. Your new companyA leading procurement organisation is looking for a Buyer to join them on a permanent basis. This job will involve supporting a range of Category Managers with procurement activities to develop best-value contract opportunities for the organisation's customers. Your new roleSpecifically, you will aid with the development of sourcing and negotiation strategies, the development of category expertise and strategies and on-going supplier management. You will ensure documentation is produced to a high standard; including strategy documentation, OJEU notices, PQQ's, ITT's and award documentation. In addition to the above, you will also be responsible for conducting supply market analysis and ensuring that databases are kept up to date. You may also be involved in contract and supplier management.What you'll need to succeedEssential requirements for a successful application to this job includes strong product or service sourcing experience, demonstrable ability to negotiate with and influence relevant stakeholders including senior management and evidence of achieving significant savings in a previous position. You should possess excellent IT, numeracy and financial data analysis skills and you should be able to work autonomously on a whole range of procurement activities. An understanding of EU directives would be beneficial but is not essential. Ideally, you will be degree educated and CIPS level 4 qualified or be working toward this or an equivalent qualification.What you'll get in returnYou will be offered a salary of circa GBP25,000 depending on experience plus excellent career progression opportunities and support with CIPS studies if applicable.
