SEN Teaching Assistant/ Learning Support Assistant Outstanding (OfSTED) SEN School South East LondonPrimary SEN TA/LSA4 Primary ASD PupilsExcellent TrainingExcellent FacilitiesGood Public Transport Links Immediate StartPermanent Contract from Summer I am currently seeking to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)/Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a vacancy in an outstanding South East London SEN school supporting teaching a KS2 class. The school has been asked to take on additional staff to cover a new group of 4 primary students who have moved into the borough since September. As a result they are seeking to appoint a good SEN TA/LSA to join their successful team. The successful applicant would be encouraged to apply for a permanent job at the school before the summer holidays as this has proven a very successful recruitment method for the school in recent years. The class you would be teaching consists of 4 Key stage 2 children all of whom have a diagnoses of Autism. They are a quite high functioning group, Speech, Language and Communication needs (SLCN) play a big part of the job so PECS and Makaton skills would be a definite advantage. The school need an LSA/TA who has experience working with Autistic children either in mainstream or specialist provision. The class has 4 pupils but you will be working alongside 1 class teacher and an HLTA, this means that the individual workload shouldn't be overbearing. It should be pointed out that some of the pupils need support with personal care tasks including getting changed, eating lunch, going to the bathroom, this is an expectation for the role. Behaviourally there are no issues in the class and the pupils are friendly and happy in their new surroundings. The school has amazing facilities as they recently moved to a purpose built site. Each classroom is large/well resourced and has attached outdoor sensory play areas. The school has a sensory garden, fantastic play space, on site therapy and sensory rooms and a therapy pool. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an outstanding SEN school where you will be nurtured, supported, trained and developed professionally whilst working in a friendly supportive atmosphere. If you are passionate about teaching, inspired to work with special needs and want the opportunity to earn a contract with a flagship SEN school apply today!
