CNC Setter/Operator (Lathe's) GBP10 per hour - GBP11.50 per hour DOE + shift premium (25%)Global Manufacturing CompanyPension, Healthcare and Genuine Career Progression Week 1: Monday to Friday 6am-2pmWeek 2: Monday to Thursday 2pm-10.30pm and Friday 2pm-7.30pm Our client, A prestigious manufacturer and supplier of inter connectors for the defence and military are currently seeking a number of CNC machinists to join their manufacturing site in Kent. Key Responsibilities Set CNC machines, prove out new programs, inspect first off, when required perform buddy check on colleague set upsInspecting work produced at all machining (auto and manual) operations using measuring equipment to engineering drawings and reporting any quality defeats to supervisionConducting daily, weekly and monthly maintenance checks on machines, including maintaining good housekeeping standards, support daily actions such as oil top up, coolant monitoring and reporting any issues promptly to supervisionDeburring, cleaning, final inspection and completion of all traceability documentation Essential Practical, hands on experience setting and operating CNC lathesManufacturing experience, ideally within a component, assembly, aerospace or automotive industryPrevious experience in set up and cycle time reduction, as well as tool management & optimisation experienceAbility to read and understand technical drawings, and apply correct choice of measuring equipmentAbility to work as part of a team, as well as independently and with minimal supervisionLean and continuous improvement skills, including 5CAbility to work on multiple tasks at once and to tight deadlines Desirable Apprenticeship gained within a manufacturing environmentHNC or equivalent in Mechanical EngineeringAble to use CMM, Shadow GraphCNC Sliding Head Experience We will endeavour to respond to all applicants, but if you do not receive a response within 5 working days, please consider yourself unsuccessful on this application.
