We are looking to recruit 3 apprentices aged 18 plus to join our dedicated staff team. We have three residential homes, 2 specialising in elderly care and early stage dementia, and one specialising in elderly care, care for younger adults and early stage dementia. Each of our homes has 24 beds on average. We are looking for people who want to make a difference to our resident’s lives and provide a high standard of care. Applicants should be 18 years or over.
To assist residents with all care needs ensuring that they maintain their dignity and privacy at all times.
To deliver all care in accordance with prescribed care plans.
To complete all daily records required.
To monitor and observe all residents and report any concerns to the Senior person on duty.
To assist in the promotion of social activities for residents.
To carry out all regular checks as prescribed within the procedures of the Home.
To answer all nurse call alarms in a timely manner, giving assistance as required.
To answer the door and telephone in an appropriate and professional manner. Record all telephone messages accurately and ensure that they are delivered to the appropriate person promptly
To escort residents to appointments or on social outings as required.
To look after resident’s clothing and personal items. All clothing must be marked with the resident’s name and stored properly in their room.
To assist residents with eating and drinking as required.
To ensure that all areas of the home are maintained in a clean and tidy manner and that all equipment is cleaned after use.
To be familiar with the contents of the Company Health & Safety Policy and adhere to the principles outlined within it.
To promote safe working practices within the Home.
To be familiar with all emergency procedures.
To maintain and promote the reputation of the Home.
To treat all residents, visitors and colleagues with respect.
To complete induction training as per the Company Induction Checklist.
To complete all on the job training as required.
To attend all mandatory training courses when instructed to do so.
To protect all service users from potential abuse and to report any concerns immediately.
To ensure all record keeping is factual and accurate.
To maintain confidentiality in all matters relating to your work,
To adhere to all company policies and procedures as detailed in your Terms and Conditions of Employment, the Employee Handbook, the Health and Safety Policy, Safer Food Better Business and all other policies in place within the Home.
Skills Required
Applicants must aged 18 plus and be able to write clearly and concisely, and have a reasonable level of numeracy to enable them to complete fluid balance charts, temperature records
Qualifications
Minimum Grade D in GCSE maths and English
Personal Qualities
Applicants must be committed to upholding the dignity, health and well being of our residents, work co operatively, be patient and be able to communicate clearly.
Progression/Prospects
Progression to a Full Time Care Assistant role. Progression to a Senior Care Assistant Role and Level 3 may be possible.
