Due to ambitious growth plans, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Marketing Analyst to join one of the UK’s leading providers of online learning.

As a Marketing Analyst, you will be responsible for championing a data-driven approach to marketing. Using both quantitative and qualitative research you will provide information to help the company make informed decisions, critically evaluating data to draw conclusions from your analysis. In conjunction with other team members identify, quantify and define opportunities within existing and new markets and sectors. Through your ability to influence and provide insight, you will become the go-to person for both research, market and product insights. In addition to this your duties will include but not be limited to:
  • Conduct market research for such activities as Voice of the Customer (VOC) and Quality Perception
  • Identifies and understands key competitors’ products and services – understanding strengths and weakness to assist the marketing team ascertain where Virtual College could gain a competitive advantage
  • Carry out competitive analysis of industry sectors maintaining competitor files and library.
  • Assess and communicate actionable findings with a view to supporting the marketing team to achieve its ambitious goals
  • Analyse market data on consumers, competitors and the market place
  • Remain fully informed on market trends and possible future developments
  • Assist in Identifying, quantifying and defining market opportunities for products within existing market sectors and in new market sectors.
  • Manage external market research companies to support Virtual College’s objectives
  • Manage internal and external customer surveys
    • Formulation of surveys
    • Manage the distribution and collation of the same
    • Analysis of results
  • Research opportunities for product development that will fill a market need and generate commercial returns
  • Ensuring all research data is collected in accordance with data protection recommendations

To be considered for this position, you will have proven market research analysis experience and vast experience in a research role. In addition, you must possess the following key skills and experience:
  • Possess knowledge of SQL, data visualisation software, and statistical analysis software - desirable
  • Experience of gathering and analysing data from different sources
  • Experience of translating information and data into actionable insights
  • Knowledge of marketing and business development
  • Ability to build strong professional internal and external relationships
  • Customer focussed
  • Ability to work with and through others to get a job done
  • Ability to present research data in a easy to understand way
  • Presentation skills
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to grasp technology and its business application
  • IT packages – High level of proficiency with Excel
  • Excellent knowledge of PowerPoint, Word
  • Degree qualified or with suitable experience
