Barnardo's are commissioned by Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council to provide a Support with Leisure Service for disabled children and young people who reside within Blaenau Gwent. The service is assisted by a bank of sessional workers who support children and young people to participate in various mainstream activities within their communities. Disabled children and young people are supported to achieve individual outcome plans with the aim of increasing their independence, confidence and social skills.
As a Project Worker 3 your specific responsibilities include:
-Working with children, young people and their families, on a one to one or group basis, using a variety of interventions, to identify needs and to achieve positive outcomes. The jobholder is likely to be dealing with the most complex of cases/situations.
-Working in partnership with parents/carers to empower them and to enable them to achieve better outcomes for their children.
-Working co-operatively with other professionals in children's services, health agencies and other community based services, to provide the most effective service for children young people and families.
-Applying safeguarding and child protection procedures and to report as necessary.
-Directly supervising project workers from the Blaenau Gwent Service, which includes overseeing the co-ordination of sessional workers.
-Agreeing and allocating work/case load of team members.
-Assisting the Children's Services Manager in data collection for monitoring purposes
