FLT Field Service Technician / Motor Engineer

Here is a fantastic opportunity to join one of Europe's longest established Fork Lift Truck dealerships as a Field Service Forklift Truck Technician. This role is ideal for anyone from an agricultural engineering, motor, plant, LGV/HGV, military background or from a competitor forklift truck dealership. who wants a field service role. The position comes complete with your own company van and tools. After full product training you will be placed in the field visiting various customer sites. Your role will be interesting and varied. Along with the ongoing requirement for servicing and preventative maintenance work, both mechanical and electrical, there will be the requirement to carry out diagnosis and subsequent repair work to both clients and company's own equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBIILITIES:
- Servicing and preventative maintenance of customer forklift truck equipment ensuring unscheduled repairs are minimised
- Attend breakdowns and perform mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault diagnosis carrying out subsequent repairs in a time and cost efficient manner
- Provide the customer and company with clear information regarding equipment, service, repair or inspection status submitting any recommendations as appropriate
- Develop and maintain client relationships ensuring the highest levels of customer service is achieved
- Liaison with the parts department to ensure appropriate stock levels are held on the company vehicle.
- Completion of documentation to company standards
- Adhering to Health & Safety requirements at all time
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION:
- In-depth mechanical experience including strong diagnosis and repair skills
- A motor trade, agricultural engineering or FLT engineering background
- Experience of hydraulics and electrical equipment an advantage however factory training will be provided as required
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise in a clear and concise way
- A professional and confident personality with the ability to liaise with people from all walks of life
- Able to plan and prioritise workload
- A flexible and helpful attitude to work
- A full driving licence
