Mechanical Engineer – Plant Maintenance 
Nottingham, Nottinghamshire

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will lead mechanical maintenance activities at our site in Nottingham. 

Day-to-day, you will undertake maintenance planning, workforce deployment, reactive and proactive maintenance activities. Overseeing the admin for you team, you will complete basic HR activities such as wage approval and holiday planning, and ensure relevant supplies are available, shutdowns are planned and contractors are controlled. 

Your team will consist of fitters, welders and support staff and you will drive your department to deliver a reliable service and outstanding results that keep our plant operating to KPIs. 

Working to a strict budget for the mechanical spend and overtime costs, you will plan day-to-day activities effectively and co-ordinate with various other departments regarding works, designs and installations. 

Additionally, your role will involve: 

- Sourcing and installing mechanical equipment 
- Managing the maintenance system within SAP 
- Developing preventative maintenance strategies in conjunction with the Engineering Manager 

To be considered for this role, you must have: 

- Experience of working with mechanical plant and equipment in a hostile environment 
- Supervisory experience in a multi-disciplined environment 
- Experience of trouble shooting and fault analysis 
- A track record of supplier liaison 

Proactive, organised and personable, as the Mechanical Engineer, you must also possess strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and influence others. A self-starting nature and plenty of initiative is also key. 

Membership of a professional body would be beneficial to your application. A CPCS appointed person A61 certification would also be advantageous, as would experience of hazardous area working.
