Shift Leader

Do you have experience of working in a busy manufacturing environment and have strong people management skills?

Ernest Jackson is a Devon-based company with almost 200 years' experience and expertise in developing, manufacturing and marketing medicated confectionery and vitamin products.

As a Shift Leader, you would have responsibility for managing and coaching a team of operators in order to achieve production targets whilst driving compliance in safety, quality and sustainability. We want to be able to develop our internal talent and ensure our workforce are fulfilling their potential.

We need highly motivated Shift Leaders to drive continuous improvement within the manufacturing process whist ensuring a clear quality focus is maintained.

With excellent communication skills, Shift Leaders will be able to plan, analyse and challenge labour requirements and usage and be able to work cross functionally and collaboratively with many stakeholders.

Applications are encouraged by those with existing people management skills but equally from those currently in an engineering or more technical field looking to move into managing a team.

Qualifications:

• A level standard of education or equivalent
• Knowledge of manufacturing systems
• Good PC literacy
• IOSH managing safety or equivalent
• Ability to apply company policies in regard to safety, quality and sustainability and associated processes
• Understanding of UK H&S legislation
• Technical knowledge of process and packaging plants
