Cathcart Energy are recruiting for an Electrical Service Engineer for onshore Wind Turbines in South Wales. The Service Centre is in Hirwaun and is commutable from Cardiff, Swansea and Newport.
The role will involve servicing and maintenance of Turbines around the South Wales area.
Given the location of the role our client is keen to consider Electrical Maintenance Engineers who will be relocating. They will offer relocation support to help you move if you are not local to the area as you will need to live within a commuting distance of Hirwaun as there is an on call aspect to the role.
The role will for be standard daytime hours with no shift work but there is an on call rota which is roughly one week in three where you will need to be available until 8pm for call out.
You will be working at height and so need to be confident in that environment but all appropriate training courses will be given if needed.
This role will primarily require Electrical Engineering skills and experience ideally with heavy industrial equipment. If you have Mechanical experience as well this will be a great asset but it is not required and my client won't consider candidates who do not have electrical maintenance experience.
Specifically you will need to have experience with 3 phase systems, electrical fault finding and electrical systems maintenance. If you have experience with PLCs and control systems this will also strengthen your application.
If you have worked in the wind industry before this will be an advantage but electrical engineering experience with the armed forces, marine, heavy plant, factory and manufacturing are all good potential backgrounds for this role.
Candidates who only have domestic and commercial electrician experience will not be considered.
The salary is GBP25,000 to GBP27,000 and will be significantly increased by generous on call and overtime bonuses and average actual earnings are around GBP38,000.
You will need to have a driving licence for this role.
