Summary
We have a fantastic opportunity to join a growing company that can offer personalised development and a varied working day. As an ICT Network Manager you will develop and maintain the ICT network and communications that underpin the working practices of a school in the Education sector. This role involves local travel and site work as well as remote desktop support.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
As I.T Network Manager you will be responsible for:
Job summary:
- Develop and maintain the School Management Information system (MIS) to underpin the data collection, analysis and reporting needs of the school
- Manage the SIMs database and installations on staff PCs / laptops
- Develop, implement and monitor procedures to ensure the safety and security of all data held on the MIS, school website and network systems
- Work with SLT/department heads/governors on e- learning, to develop the IT resourcing strategy for the school. (this will include the provision of technical advice on possible network development paths and opportunities, including the enhancement and integration of existing networks and network services and the development of links beyond school, eg internet and broadband services)
- Working with SLT/department heads for e-learning to research, design, cost and obtain quotations for goods and services and generate orders for IT network developments
- Prioritising work within the team, allocating duties, delegating tasks and day to day supervision, including team motivation
- Manage the day to day running of the school`s curriculum and management network systems to provide a high level of continual service to all users including:
- Daily installation of AV equipment used throughout the school, including all aspects of AV tasks
- Be responsible for the management of all resources within the department in accordance with the school`s financial regulations, including the close monitoring of the ICT departmental budgets
Responsibilities:
- Identify, plan and cost all future developments and upgrades to the school`s ICTinfrastructure and liaise with senior management and external contractors accordingly
- Manage the installation of new networks and network services liaising as appropriate with external bodies such as consultants, contracted installers and suppliers
- Oversee/carry out repairs/servicing of ICT equipment including PC`s, laptops, projectors and printers
- Develop the IT policy for the school
- Managing user accounts for students and staff including network/email/on-line
- Maintain existing back-up solutions for total system recovery and for pupil/staff file long term recovery, along with ensuring a disaster contingency plan is in place
- Offer consultancy to SLT/Governors on new technologies and communication pathways
