Our client is a leading energy and services group and they are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to be based in Leeds.General Overview:
* Working to provide mechanical maintenance for a wide variety of plant items; - reciprocating generation engines, turbines, industrial refrigeration plant, compressors, pumps, fans etc.
* Reactive repair work to plant breakdowns and compliance with preventative maintenance schedules
* In line with process's & policies promote the safety & environmental culture and maintain the highest standards of operational performance
Impact:
* Represent the Company in a professional manner to customers and external agencies, by reasonable dress and demeanour and ensure the site and all Company property are maintained in a clean and tidy condition
* Ensure that all work records are accurate and meet requirements of contract and policies/procedures and undertake regular checks to ensure compliance
* Be available for call out rota and when business needs demand
* Provides support to the team during abnormal conditions or during times of high work load
Complexity:
* Carry out unsupervised routine mechanical maintenance / remedial work and general duties to ensure reliable and efficient operation of the plant
* Operate the PPM system including the feedback of information and data
* Report on any system within the GSC scope of operation which is not operating effectively & efficiently with suggested improvements / repair
* Ensure that all work is completed in a safe manner that complies with Health, Safety & Environmental policies
* Ensure that all work is completed in line with industry standard

* Ability to manage both internal and customer expectations
* Flexible approach to work and adaptable
* Ability to think clearly work under pressure
* Good communicator, concise and clear

Qualifications or Required Experience:
* Applicants must have served a recognised mechanical apprenticeship
* A naval, chemical industry or power generation background would be an advantage
* Ability experience of any types of welding would be desirable
* Demonstrable understanding of Health & Safety at Work
* Understand the requirement for safe systems of work and permit to work systems
* Be physically fit for the job and be willing to undergo a medical examination
* Must be computer literate in Microsoft packages
