Our client, a firm of independent financial advisors, is seeking to appoint a Paraplanner to join their team. This role will be busy and varied and the prime responsibility will be to the Managing Director and the Financial Advisers in servicing the demands of all aspects of client work.

Duties and responsibilities:

* Accurately and efficiently support the MD and advisers to enable the achievement of targets
* Preparing information / comparisons for analysis
* Review / analyse investment portfolio / asset allocation / risk profile
* Research into products and services ensuring that clients have the best "whole of market advice" made available to them when they need it
* Prepare draft recommendation letters and compliant suitability reports with agreed recommendations
* Liaise with client legal and tax advisers
* Ensure all compliance paperwork is complete and in order
* Be the main contact with the various product providers
* Draft monthly/quarterly key technical material for the Client Newsletter, making sure that deadlines are met and that information is legislatively compliant
* Ensure colleagues are aware of any changes to key technical material in a timely and professional manner
* Take responsibility for, and act as the main contact for the 7IM platform and assume the main liaison with the 7IM team on the platform and on the discretionary FM side
* Regularly communicate on compliance matters as they arise with colleagues, highlighting any areas of specific interest, referring the subject to the Training Academy for wider training if necessary, and presenting same at internal and external seminars
* Keep up to date with legislative changes, attending seminars, briefings and meeting with broker consultants relevant to the Paraplanning role

Skills and experience required:

* Minimum of 3 years experience working within a financial planning company
* Achieved the Certificate of Financial Planning (or equivalent) and working towards Diploma
* Technical knowledge of financial services products and the financial advice process
* Effective writing of reports and suitability letters
* Effective technical and product research
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
* In-depth understanding of compliance
* Priortise and plan own workload

Hours of Work:

* Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm

Salary and benefits:

* Circa GBP30,000 dependent upon experience
