If you want to join a successful, growing project and work amongst an experienced professional commercial team, this is the role for you. This is your chance to work for a highly successful subcontractor with over 150 years of history, on water projects in either North London or South East London.

Duties:

You will control costs, maximise value and minimise future liabilities all while maintaining quality and safety, improving cost efficiency and contributing to our culture of out-performance. Also, you will manage, coach and mentor assistant Quantity Surveyors.

You will be involved with the preparation of timely and accurate financial information, final accounts and integrated cost forecasts; the monitoring of insurance claims; the recording of production, profitability and payments; cash forecasts; the analysis of costs and resolution of disputes; pricing additional and variations in works; and providing further commercial inputs. Occasionally working with different companies and disciplines, you will always apply rigour to tasks without stifling innovation, setting clear direction and performance-related objectives in an open and collaborative environment.

Ideal Candidate:

Degree qualified (or HND/HNC with substantial work experience) in QS or civil/mechanical/electrical engineering, you must have considerable QS experience, ideally but not necessarily gained in a utilities or civils environment. A valid driving licence is essential.

To succeed, you must have effective written and verbal communications skills.

On Offer:

A competitive salary as well as an attractive benefits package including a contributory company pension scheme and 25 days' annual leave. My client has a firm culture of making the team central to everything they do, to them it is important that every individual realises their full potential through training and development.

With a strong market presence across all of the UK utilities: gas, water, power and telecoms, they are committed to working closely with clients and customers to deliver least-cost solutions that do not compromise safety, quality, service delivery and customer care.
