Our client is a market-leading provider of supplier quality and supplier performance management services to the aerospace and defence industries. They are looking to expand their technical team with the addition of a Technical Program Manager.

Based at a client site in Wolverhampton, the role's main focus is to manage a team of engineers supporting the review, compilation and validation of first article inspection reports in accordance with the AS9102 standard. Example duties will include:-

* To coordinate all FAI and PPAP activity, assigning activity to engineers and ongoing prioritisation to ensure deadlines are met
* To ensure that projects are delivered to time and budget to meet client expectations
* To ensure that projects are performed to specification to ensure that liabilities and risks are minimised
* Manage the delivery team, including specialist sub-contractors, ensuring all works are undertaken accurately and in accordance with the requirements of the contract.
* To identify and develop cost efficiency solutions to meet our client requirements
* Accurately monitor all activities to ensure real-time status is available to customers at all times.
* Accurately monitor project financial performance and monitor progress
* Work in accordance with given instructions, safe working practices and method statements ensuring relevant paperwork is completed in an accurate timely manner
* Work safely, ensuring the safety and well-being of self, colleagues, customers and visitors
* Focus on customer needs and customer preferences using 'customer care' concepts in theory and practice including needs of internal customers in administration and operational teams

We'd be interested in hearing from candidates with the following skills:-

* Degree educated, preferably in an engineering discipline and a minimum of 3 years' relevant work experience, or certificate level education with a minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience
* Experience within a quality leadership function in an aerospace manufacturing environment
* Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
* Ability to organize and prioritize projects in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented and rapidly changing business environment
* Decision-making skills for problem identification and solution recommendation and implementation
* Must possess strong analytical, planning, organization, presentation and time management skills
* Customer-facing experience and the ability to present at all levels
* A project management background, to include experience with scheduling, prioritising and load balancing
* A practical understanding of the AS9102 standard, regarding completeness and compliance of First Article Inspection Reports (any experience with PPAP would be highly desirable)
* A high level of computer literacy, to include significant experience with MS Project and/or Excel
* Ability to track and monitor status, to produce KPIs and maintain SLA requirements
* Strong verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to present to all levels
* Ability to serve as the first level for client interface, with proven experience in building long-term, partnering relationships
