Contracts Manager - Small Works

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Small Works Contracts Manager to join a well-established and reputable main contractor based in the Greater Manchester region.

The Role

My client are currently looking to recruit an experienced Small Works Contracts Manager whose job it will be to ensure the smooth operation of a number of designated contracts , ranging in value between GBP50k and GBP1m, across the education, healthcare, commercial and leisure sectors.

Projects will be a mix of high speciation refurbishments and small scale new builds.

With responsibility for the control and management of a number of Site Managers, the Contracts Manager will ensure contracts are completed to programme, with minimal defects and within budget.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will ultimately be responsible for 3 - 7 sites at any one time.

Duties

" Assist in the development of the procurement programme
" Manage the selection of sub-contractors
" Manage site personnel, work activities and resources to meet the requirements of individual contracts.
" Monitor budget
" Develop a programme, monitor progress and ensure the contracts are delivered on time.
" Ensure contracts comply with Health, Safety and Welfare requirements.
" Ensure site personnel (including visitors) are aware of their own Health, Safety and Welfare requirements.
" Manage the identification of site hazards and ensure assessments and risk control methods are implemented.
" Ensure the performance of reporting staff are monitor through regular appraisals and reviews.
" Ensure identified individual development/training needs are met.
" Maintain the trust and support of reporting personnel
" Support individuals who have problems that may affect their performance.
" Manage/implement procedures on Recruitment, Discipline and Grievance.

Skills and Expertise required

The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate a stable and progressive career background, and have previous experience working in Senior Management for a Main Contractor. It is also essential that you have had experience in managing several contracts, both new build and refurbishments, at the same time, ideally across the education, healthcare, commercial and leisure sectors.

What's on offer?

Depending on experience, my client is looking at offering GBP40k -GBP45k plus car allowance and package.
