Senior Trade Compliance Officer

Cubiq Recruitment is representing a world leading technology client for a Senior Trade Compliance Officer to begin a permanent role in South Wales.

The customer in question supplies advanced systems to a global customer base developing sophisticated technology for a broad range of military applications.

Responsibilities included (but are not limited to):

* Support the Land System business unit in managing all export compliance activities within programmes, BIDs, demonstrations and exhibitions.
* Liaise with relevant Land System programme personnel regarding programme export issues and advising decisively on the right way forward
* Review and maintain records of all supplier responses to the Product Classification Questionnaire / RFQs
* Train members of the Trade Compliance team on processes and legislative requirements
* Review all re-transfer and re-export paperwork
* Prepare and submit export licences and F680s via SPIRE
* Support US suppliers in the scoping of accurate US agreement applications to support programmes / business development before submission into the US Department of State
* Produce reports and documents as required by the Land System business unit
* Provide advice and awareness training to current and new Land System employees on the compliance requirements of UK and U.S. export control legislation
* Maintain an up to date knowledge of the ITAR/ EAR and other countries' import and export legislation
* Support the establishment and implementation of processes and procedures associated with export compliance as they relate to the Land System business unit
* Support the coordination and conduct of internal export compliance audits of Land System programmes
* Support the coordination and conduct of external export compliance audits on behalf of the Land Systems Business Unit
* Lead various initiatives such as the Trade Compliance Council and Associated cross functional working groups
* Lead the MRP implementation project with respect to the Trade Compliance aspects


* Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
* Display high degree of flexibility due to the changing priorities of the business
* Demonstrates innovation
* Knowledge and understanding of, and experience in implementing UK export controls (Military and Dual Use)
* Knowledge and understanding of, and experience in the use of SPIRE
* Knowledge and understanding of, and experience in implementing, US export controls (ITAR and EAR)
* Ideally degree qualified or equivalent experience in a Trade Compliance role
