My client is developing real-time detection and measurement of the level of various chemicals in patients' blood in particular the therapeutic window of drugs used in patients. The product promises a breakthrough in intensive care treatment and this is a fabulous opportunity for a Senior Data Analysis and Algorithms Engineer to join in the core work of product development, developing new algorithms for measuring various new blood values, whilst at the same time analysing data from their own experiments and field data to identify trends, optimise the algorithms and direct future research work.

Primary Role:
• To contribute to research and development activities
• To develop the analytics projects within R&D (data processing, analysis, algorithms and modelling) used in new core product development
• To setup and maintain an infrastructure for the analysis of incoming data, allowing trending and re-processing of gathered data using new algorithms

Other Roles:
• Contribute to the planning, design, development and review of company products
• Conduct health and safety/risk assessments as required
• Liaise with external consultants and contractors
Skills:
• Expert user of data analysis and statistical processing tools (e.g. MATLAB, Excel, VBA, R, SAS, SPSS, Minitab) and database integration (SQL, Ms Access)
• Work within a multi-disciplinary team to meet the needs of the development project
• Knowledge of and experience with project planning techniques and tools, specifically in software development

Experience:
• Familiarity with medical device development (i.e. ISO 13485)
• System and component fault analysis
• Software development process
• Project management
• Trend analysis within large datasets

Education:
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Applied Physics, with relevant technical skills
