We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a national training provider, for a successful Business Developer to grow their Workforce development division, covering the North East of England.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop the role into the eventual Head of Workforce Development, once you've grown the division sufficiently enough to develop your own Sales team.

JOB PURPOSE:

To create and develop links with employers, locally and nationally, producing long lasting relationships providing training solutions for their staff. A background in Business Development, Recruitment, Sales, Training, Apprenticeships, Employability or Account Management is essential.

Primarily you'll be working on SSW funding, Skills Support for the Workforce, therefore it's important you have knowledge of this type of funding or funding which is similar like ESF, European Social Funding, in order to be able to hit the ground running once in the role.

DUTIES:

- To lead the company's Sales Activity promoting their SSW service.
- Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation and lead management to prospecting, arranging appointments, preparing proposals and presentations, negotiating, closing and handing over new accounts to the account management team.
- Build, manage and maintain a substantial pipeline and to ensure that all pipeline activity is accurately documented and kept up-to-date.
- Provide timely response and exceptional levels of service to all enquiries.
- Thoroughly research and understand prospect's products, competition, industry, marketing goals and objectives, overall business requirements and objectives, and to advise clients accordingly on the best mix of products and services required to meet these objectives.
- To maintain a good working relationship with appropriate referral networks & external partners.
- To build and maintain a good working relationship with Local Career Services and other appropriate referral agencies and to take part in exhibitions, conventions, presentations, etc. as necessary to promote the company and its services.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

- Sales and/or marketing experience
- Experience of interaction with the client group
- IAG experience
- Sales/Work based learning experience
- Recruitment experience
- Knowledge of local labour market
- Knowledge of social issues affecting the client group.
- Knowledge of government funded programmes
- Contacts with local companies
- Full driving license

Salary is GBP28-30k plus car allowance and GBP10-20k commission
