Our Bedfordshire client would like to recruit a degree qualified Electronics Engineer.
The company designs and operates bespoke integrated electrical panels to be used within hotels and high-end dwellings.

You will be responsible for developing hardware and operating software as their system evolves, and then for maintenance and commissioning prior to and following installation.

Working closely with the Technical Director and Software Engineer, this role plays a key part in ensuring that the System operates flawlessly. It is also pivotal in maintaining the System's competitive market position, from a functional perspective.
The role is broad-based and multi-faceted, and also involves working with, and managing, third party suppliers and partners.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Design and build of new and/or evolved System hardware components as required.
• Creating and adapting micro-controller and control code (C++) and implementing same.
• Workshop testing of hardware, as per the applicable context.
• Assisting and managing, as required, System implementation and site-setup, including commissioning and defect resolution.
• Documenting all activity as required, and in particular:
i) product development.
ii) amendments to, and creation of, product and implementation manuals,
iii) data sheets and product manuals.
• Provision of telephone and on-line client support services (advice and fault resolution).

You will hold:

• An Electronics Engineering degree.
• Electrical schematic (CAD) drawing skills and experience.
• A practical knowledge of 8-32bit micro controllers (e.g. PIC) and general control systems is beneficial.
• Excellent electrical engineering expertise and good mechanical skills, across a broad range of skills (including micro and macro-soldering, basic mains & low voltage electronics, and simple switch mechanics).
• Detailed practical knowledge and skills in C and C++ code and working with micro-controllers.
• Knowledge and understanding of C# coding (probably having undertaken a University project or similar).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to simply describe technical scenarios, in "layman's" terms (to clients and their agents)
