Senior Site Manager (Construction) - Outstanding Career development opportunity!

The company:

My client is currently ramping up some of the most innovative and largest UK construction projects to date consisting of the construction of mixed use, student accommodation and high residential buildings on high quality developments. They are currently on the lookout for an ambitious Senior Site Manager to come and join them on a staff basis, on one of their most prestigious projects to date.

As part of their team, you will be managing the project which includes the attainment of the required quality, safety programme, profitability, co-ordination of site works and management of subcontractors on site. This will be a staff position, and based in South Wales.

It's your time to play an integral role as part of their engineering delivery team in the support of its site management services of its strategic focus in the UK!

The Role:

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

** Formulate and present progress reporting structure both internally and to the client
** Overall responsibility for construction, through to the completion of the building, to the agreed programme
** Formulating and agreeing main contract programmes
** To set the agenda for the construction process and the design/ information co-ordination to achieve that process
** Ensure site team manage in overall terms Site Health and Safety Policy, security and fire policies
** Ensure site team set up and work to main site filing system
** Assist with contractual correspondence and distribution of information
** Attend post hand over review meetings
** Encourage and develop communication methods employed by staff and nurture positive supportive approach to developing staff.
** To discuss, support and advise team members on a regular individual and team basis and where necessary liaise with Human Resources for additional support
** Conduct, chair and minute regular team meetings with subcontractors and management and distribute to senior management
** Complete on time or ahead of time
** Arrange and ensure meetings with quantity surveyors regularly throughout contract
** Liaise with Quantity Surveyor and sub-contractors to discuss possible damages and time loss immediately as they arise
** Discuss site issues and progress with Student Accommodation Construction Director
** Attend pre-start meetings with on-site operatives
** Liaise with client, architect, structural engineers, Building Control and NHBC

Essential Skills and Experience:

** Proven track record of site management in excess of 7+ years???????? experience
** Main contractor background
** Experience working in high rise, mixed use, residential and desirably student accommodation
** Experience of working on project values of up to GBP36M+

What we will be looking for in you:

We are looking for inquisitive and passionate Senior Site Manager, who has experience and a proven track record of overseeing and delivering on mid-level high rise and residential projects.

We need someone who is an out of the box thinker, adaptable to change and managing cultural change. You must have experience of construction projects and overseeing and mentoring less experienced staff.

We are ideally looking for someone who has worked for main contractors in the construction industry.

This will be an exciting high profile, student accommodation development, consisting of a 26-storey scheme which will be in the centre of South Wales and will combine Student Accommodation with mixed retail/commercial use, by re-developing and regenerating the existing site.
