JOB TITLE: Pension Analyst

SALARY & BENEFITS: Circa GBP19,000 to GBP23,000 per annum based upon experience
Opportunity to earn a bonus based on individual performance and the contribution made to the profitability of the business overall.

WORKING HOURS: Full Time, Monday - Friday

THE COMPANY: Our client is a major provider of actuarial and pensions services to the legal profession. The company works primarily with Family lawyers providing advice in connection with the pensions aspects of divorce settlements. They also work with Personal Injury and Employment lawyers to calculate the loss of pension rights in damages cases relating to personal injury or unfair dismissal. They are seeking a Pension Analyst to join their team on a full time basis.

THE ROLE: The Pension Analyst position involves working as a key member of a small team. After an initial period of training the post holder will be expected to make a strong contribution to their area of the business in providing the highest possible standards of service to the company's clients. There will be the opportunity to earn a bonus based on individual performance and the contribution made to the profitability of the business overall.

Key Responsibilities for the Pension Analyst role:-

• Writing actuarial and pension reports in connection with divorce/personal injury/employment tribunal settlements.
• Writing and maintaining simple actuarial valuation and other calculation spreadsheets.
• Performing data collection on cases and communicating with external organisations and clients as required.

THE CANDIDATE: The successful applicant for the Pension Analyst role will need to have strong technical skills associated with creating spreadsheets, excellent report writing skills and possess the ability to quickly develop analytical skills for pension modelling. The successful applicant will need to be a confident communicator on the telephone, will need to be hard working, highly self motivated, be able to work to tight deadlines and have the ability to get on with the job with minimal supervision once fully trained. The applicant would need to live within a commutable distance to Wetherby.

Key skills and experience for the Pension Analyst role:-
• Strong numerical and analytical skills are essential
• Previous experience of pensions would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be provided
• Degree in a numerate discipline (minimum 2:2)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are also essential.
• Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients, both in writing and on the telephone.
• Ability to work closely and effectively with colleagues in a small team.
