We are seeking a Technical Project Engineer to assist with technical and contractual matters regarding the design and eventual construction of a nuclear waste storage facility. The role would suit a Mechanical, Chemical/Process Engineer for example with a design background and history of working in the nuclear industry.

The Technical Project Engineer works alongside the Engineering Lead within a dedicated team for the technical management of turnkey engineering procurement contracts.

The Technical Project Engineer is responsible for:
??? Establishing contractor surveillance program,
??? Leading early contract technical clarification meetings,
??? Managing the resolution of contractor technical queries,
??? Leading weekly / monthly progress meetings with the contractor and client,
??? Participating and coordinating the surveillance of contractor deliverables against the contract specifications,
??? Reporting to the client to validate the release of payment milestones,
??? Managing the evolution of the plant design against the contract technical specification,
??? Managing interfaces between the equipment within the scope of supply and interfacing systems, contracts and buildings,
??? Managing and ensuring contractor progress against the project schedule,
??? Working collaboratively with the contractor, the client and all other stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure the successful delivery of the contract,
??? Recording and sharing lessons learnt from everyday activities for the benefit of others on the project.

Functional relationships: Reports directly to the Waste Leader and/or the Group Leader. Works alongside the Engineering Lead.

Qualifications & Experience:-
The ideal candidate will have:
??? A bachelor / masters degree in a related engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Etc.),
??? Good experience in a relevant industry, eg:
o Waste processing plant (preferably nuclear),
o Power plant design / operations (preferably nuclear),
o EPC contract management (preferably FIDIC),
o Oil & gas / chemical processing,
o Etc.
??? Good written & spoken English & confident presenter,
??? Knowledge of UK regulatory requirements (CDM, COSHH, IRR, Environmental Permitting, etc.)
??? Experience with British / ISO standards and other design codes.
??? Mechanical, Electrical, C&I is a bonus
