Global Market leader specialising in precision engineering products for the aerospace industry is seeking to recruit on a fixed term 12 month temporary contract an Experienced HR Officer / Advisor to join their HR team.
The successful applicant will be required to provide support the HR Manager, as well as providing HR administrative support and guidance on employee issues to the Managing Director and Departmental Managers in relation to company policy/ procedure and in line with current employment legislation.
Key Objectives:
• In the absence of the HR Manager ensure the smooth running of the HR department providing advice and support to managers as and when required. Ensure escalation of issues to HR Manager on return.
• HR Support & Advice to Managers - Provide advice and support to Managers in line with current legislation and company policy/ procedure. Ensure understanding and knowledge of employment legislation is up to date.
• HR Process Development - Assist HR Manager when defining or simplifying new and existing HR processes, to ensure cost and time reductions. Focus on standardising HR Processes and documentation (e.g. standard letters and forms) and work with managers to ensure compliance with HR processes.
• Recruitment - Manage all recruitment activities (e.g. advertisements, liaise with recruitment agencies, interviewing & assessments) and associated documentation in a timely and effective manner ensuring the managers are informed at all times. Distribute contract packs and arrange all relevant administration relating to the recruitment of new employees.
• Induction Process - Co-ordinate and present employee induction programmes for all direct labour as well as ensuring all new starter information (e.g. personal data, ID) is received and in line with current legislation.
• Performance & Salary Reviews - Co-ordinate and administer the performance review system for all staff employees, dealing with queries from managers in relation to the scheme. Support the HR Administrator and HR Manager around times of annual performance reviews.
• Absence Monitoring - Tracking and recording, referrals to Occupational Health, liaise with employees to support a return to work in a timely manner.
• Occupational Health - Support Occupational Health Advisor and assist in the co-ordination of medical assessments and training days as and when required.
• Disciplinary Support & Appeal Hearings - Provide disciplinary advice support to Managers, which will involve attending disciplinary hearings and issuing all related documentation.
• Supervision - Supervise HR Administrator with regard to all HR administration and provide daily supervision
• Leadership Training - Support HR Manager with the co-ordination and administration for SMT/OMT/Team leader training
• Retirement - Co-ordinate all aspects leading up to an employees retirement including informing employees of retirement notification date, retirement courses and options available when considering working on. Discuss options of continuing work with HR Manager.
• Long service reporting
• SAP Administration - Support HR Administrator with maintaining, test and processing information on the SAP HR system in a timely and effective manner, ensuring accuracy of input at all times. Liaise with Payroll in relation to SAP inputs and responsible for maintaining SAP Organisational Structure.

• In addition to the duties listed above, the position holder must carry out tasks assigned by their Line Manager supervisor that are essentially related to his duties.
Experience / skills required:
• GCSE education or equivalent, including English
• CPP or working toward CIPD is desirable.
• The job holder must have knowledge and experience of HR Information Systems, together with knowledge of employment legislation. Confidentiality and security are also essential elements in performing tasks.
• The ability to network effectively internally and externally is essential. A high degree of tact and discretion with the ability to remain calm under pressure in a busy and diverse environment is necessary.
• It is desirable that the incumbent has worked in a manufacturing environment in a HR function.
