Employee Relations Advisor Required - Claygate, Surrey.

Dairy Crest is the UK`s leading dairy foods company, producing a range of market leading brands including Cathedral City, Country Life and Clover.

We are now looking to recruit an Employee Relations Advisor to join the team based in Claygate, Surrey on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.

Employee Relations Advisor Responsibilities:

Reporting to the ER Manager, you will acting as first point of contact for ER related queries within the HR Customer Service Centre, alongside providing an accurate high quality employee relations support service to the organisation. You will also be responsible for:

- Providing advice and guidance to managers and staff support on handling all employee relation`s matters.
- Delivering expert employee relations advice and guidance to resolve individual cases and escalated issues as appropriate, in line with DC policies and procedures.
- Building strong relationships, influencing and engaging with key stakeholders including HR BP`s, Line managers` employees, and Trade Unions.
- Ensuring that all the advice, guidance and support you provide is accurate, consistent and in line with Dairy Crest`s policies and procedures and the most up-to-date employment legislation
- Managing and take ownership of your own caseload, prioritising accordingly
- Preparing and processing Group Income Protection (GIP) claims where appropriate and liaising with our insurers
- Developing management capability on handling and dealing with employee relations activity through coaching and advice
- Undertaking regular catch ups with the HRBP`s to discuss casework progress
- Developing effective relationships with the business to promote good employee relations across the organisation.
- Assisting the ER Manager in the handling of employment tribunal or other legal claims, liaising with managers to assemble factual evidence and preparation of documentation.
- Providing administrative support with organisational change projects including redundancy and redeployment and TUPE transfers
- Escalating to the ER Manager any concerns in relation to HR business risk where advice is not acted upon appropriately

The ideal Employee Relations Advisor:

To be successful for this role, you will possess a CIPD level 3 qualification or be working towards level 5, with also proven experience of managing a caseload of wide ranging employee relations issues. Knowledge of Employee Relations policies and procedures is a must. You will also be:

- Confident about taking decisions and giving advice independently
- Good interpersonal skills, good Knowledge of employment law
- Ability to communicate effectively and develop strong relations with key colleagues with people at all levels
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work on own initiative and under pressure with a heavy workload
- Competent IT skills with experience of using case management systems and recording information electronically
- Flexible approach to working hours & ability to travel to meetings throughout the UK on occasion
