As the Plant Manager, you will be tasked with leading the manufacturing operation at our plant in Hindlow.
At present our site boasts a significant quarrying operation and two kilns manufacturing high quality quicklime, as well as several further ‘downstream’ processing units. You will also take charge of our satellite processing facility in Cumbria.
Specifically, reporting to the Industrial Director of Lhoist Western Europe, your role will incorporate the health and safety performance for the site, all plant operations and energy management. You will ensure that economic budget targets are met, cost controls are in place and you lead the development of the budget.
You will take charge of approximately 60 employees and will be responsible for the short, medium and long term sales and production planning.
Additionally, your role will involve:
- Co-ordinating production and maintenance activities with sales requirements
- Managing key supplier and subcontractor relationships
- Ensuring a culture of maintenance excellence is embedded
- Acting as the focal point for various initiatives and encouraging best practice across the site
- Developing action plans for continuous improvement activities
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Experience in manufacturing management
- Experience in calcination, milling and quarrying
- An engineering degree in a mechanical, electrical or chemical and/or process related discipline
Decisive and proactive, as the Plant Manager, you’ll need to be a strong leader with well developed communication skills and the ability to build relationships with people at all levels.
International experience or a demonstrated ability to adapt in a new environment would be beneficial to your application. Experience with kilns and lime manufacturing would also be advantageous.
