A leading east midlands based manufacturer is looking to expand it team with the addition of a Production Manager, the role reporting to the General Manager will be based from the companies Ilkeston site in Derbyshire.

The Production Manager will be responsible for the day to day planning and management of the production of high quality aftermarket automotive parts within a busy and growing site. They will be ensuring the all objectives from the production schedules are achieved and to maximum efficiency and capacity while maintaining a safe working environment for all staff.

Main areas of responsibility: -

- Plan and organise production schedules within a small to medium batch volume environment
- Implement and monitor the production schedule, management of supervisors
- Motivate a team of supervisors and operatives
- Ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments including procurement, distribution and management
- Work with managers to implement the company's policies and goals
- Manage the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment
- Ensure that standard operating procedures are adhered to
- Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures
- Monitor quality standards of products
- Maintain training records and identify training needs
- Review employee performance and organise necessary interventions for improvement
- Identify and implement improvements to the production process
- Prepare and maintain production reports

- Proven knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques
- Must have experience from a welding and fabrication background
- Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance
- Knowledge of process improvement techniques
- Solid computer skills

The operational hours for the site are Monday to Wednesday 7:30am to 4:00pm, Thursday 7:30am to 4:30pm and Friday 7:30am to 3:00pm.

The salary will be based on experience and reviewed annually.
