Starting Salary £21,733 - £25,463 per annum plus allowances (£3,250 RRA & £3,250 on call RRA)

The MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) is a world-class research Institute seeking to understand biological processes at a molecular level.
We are looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician to work within our Estates and Facilities team at the MRC LMB working as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician. You will be responsible for the electrical/mechanical servicing/repairs at the prestigious state of the art LMB building and at other MRC sites within the Cambridge region.
Your duties will include electrical/mechanical PPM (Planned & Preventive maintenance) daily checks of all major plant and the monitoring of computer-controlled BMS (Building Management Systems) for electrical, heating and ventilation equipment, plus repairs/minor installation works.
Candidates will have completed a recognised Electrical or Mechanical apprenticeship or hold the equivalent qualifications, and have a working knowledge of engineering services coupled with a good understanding of all aspects of building maintenance. You will be required to be on an out-of-hour's on-call rota system. You must also hold a full UK drivers licence.
You will receive a £3,250 (RRA) Recruitment and Retention Allowance. This allowance is a market scarcity supplement that is reviewed annually. A £3,250 RRA will also be paid for on-call work (approximately 7 weeks per year).
This is a full time position working 36 hours per week. Full training will be given in all aspects of the post and you will be able to participate in the MRC's wide range of staff development opportunities.
