LOCATION: Littlehampton, West Sussex

JOB TITLE: Team Leader

SALARY & BENEFITS: Competitive

WORKING HOURS: Full Time and Part Time positions available
Full Time is 5 days over 7, either 7am - 2.45pm or 2.15pm - 10pm.
Part Time is around 21 hours per week.

THE COMPANY: Our client is an award-winning independent provider of support services within Residential homes for service user's with learning disabilities and additional health and social care needs. An exciting opportunity has arisen for Team Leader to join their expanding team on a permanent basis.

THE ROLE: For the role of the Team Leader you will be supporting the service manager to ensure the smooth running of the service and to ensure that service users are provided with a safe, caring and stable environment. You will support service users in reaching their full potential by empowering them to fulfil their personal, social, educational and emotional needs, by providing a high standard of personalised care and support.

Key Responsibilities for the Team Leader role to include:-

• Take a pro-active and innovative approach to supporting service users, maximising their potential by enabling them to engage in meaningful activities and opportunities
• Ensure the physical, emotional and cultural well-being of all individuals is identified and promoted
• Actively liaise with the families and friends of the service user's, in a way that promotes and encourages open communication and feedback
• Recording, planning and evaluating support plans and risk assessments
• Enable the service user's to access the community which may include holidays, outings and appointments
• Work within a flexible rota system adapted to meet the needs of individuals living in the service
• Help service users' to attain and maintain good standards of hygiene and personal care, providing assistance as appropriate
• Ensure effective and proactive communication between members of the team and colleagues
• Be aware of the financial budget of the service and support the service manager to achieve targets
• Monitor and maintain efficient staffing levels
• Be on call, as required, ensuring staff have access to support or advice/guidance at all times

THE CANDIDATE: For the role of Team Leader you will have a positive attitude with a passion and willingness to develop your own skills within Team Leader role. You will be a well organised self starter who can multi task in a demanding environment. You will need to have excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills and be assertive and confident. You share the company's goal of delivering excellent care to the service user's and you will need to live within a commutable distance to Littlehampton.

Key experience essential for the role of Team Leader:-

• Solid experience within a Learning Disability service preferably gained whilst in a supervisory/managerial role
• Flexible to work shift patterns
• NVQ 2 or 3 in Social Care
• A driving licence is advantageous
