Our client is on the lookout for enthusiastic, committed, supportive and confident Care Assistants to join their team in Fareham.
They have a comprehensive home development plan in place which is being implemented by an enthusiastic new Manager and Deputy and they are making great progress with their improvements.
The Role of Care Assistant
This is a physically and mentally demanding but rewarding job where your goal is to assist every one of our client’s residential service users, many of whom suffer with dementia; to live with dignity and respect and as much choice and independence as possible.
A warm welcome awaits you from our client’s small but energetic and professional team and you will enabled to do your work to a high standard through regular and supportive supervision meetings and a programme of on-going training, covering all mandatory knowledge and practice requirements.
Responsibilities as Care Assistant
Reporting to a Registered Nurse on shift, your responsibility will include providing personal care such as washing, personal hygiene, dressing and assisting with meals; and providing physical and mental stimulation through taking part in recreational and social activities with residents, both individually and in groups.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required
We would like applications from people with the right attitude and approach and will consider applications from people who have aptitude but are unqualified, right up to Senior Care Assistants with significant experience and qualifications up to NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care.
You will possess strong attention to detail and be extremely patient, caring and calm as well as being very organised and a “team player.”
Salary and Hours
As a Care Assistant shifts are on a rota and covering full and part time on days, nights and weekends and part shifts are available, our clients’ rates of pay is £7.40 to £8.20 per hour - the top rate is for an NVQ3 qualified experienced senior carer. Time and a third is paid for overtime.
Our client’s application process may include a short telephone-screening interview and, if you are successful, you will be called to their premises to look around and complete an application form, followed by an interview and checks for right to work in the UK. If you are offered employment following this you will need to provide full details for completion of a DBS check, which must be confirmed before any employment can begin.
