IT Support Engineer - 2nd Line Support
Permanent, Location Cheltenham
Salary: ??20k - 25k per annum, dependent upon experience
We have an exciting opportunity to join the IT Services team as a 2nd line IT Services Engineer and play a key role contributing towards the on-going support, maintenance, design, development and management of the IT Services. This is an opportunity to join a company who are continuing to expand their existing IT services and implement new innovations, making this an excellent opportunity to develop new skills and get your hands on the latest technology.
Responsibilities:
* Provide 2nd line support on the service desk and meet required customer KPI's
* Contribute to the work of the IT Services Team, including liaising with 3rd party contractors
* to achieve team deliverables
* Networking troubleshooting & basic changes, including; patching, VLANs, wireless, physical installation, client devices
* Support & troubleshooting of telephony hardware. E.g. wireless headsets, desktop phones, mobiles
* Provide in-person training, create guides and videos for customers and other team members
* Configuration of workstation firewalls, anti-spam, and anti-virus
* Experience of software installation & troubleshooting in a networked environment
* Understanding of DHCP, DNS & Active Directory & Group Policy
* Up to date knowledge of IT legislation
* Competent user of software applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and databases
* Ability to train and assist both technical and end users
As the successful 2nd line IT Services Engineer, you will provide a professional and effective customer focused service desk, providing up to and including 2nd line support across a wide breadth of services and devices including; telephony, software installations, network infrastructure, AV equipment, various BYOD's, client software, CCTV, door access and client hardware.
Although based in Cheltenham on occasion you will be required to travel to other sites so require a full UK driving licence. There is the unique opportunity to work either all year round or take a term time position.
The closing date for this position is 30th November 2016 with first stage interviews starting from Tuesday 6th December.
