Smart Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established international Engineering company in South Somerset. We are looking to recruit an experienced Department Manager who has an engineering background. It is a varied role that has a main purpose of ensuring completion of orders on time and to budget; through the maximisation of resources and the maintenance of a clear and accurate production schedule.
Within this role you would have the responsibility for the three workshops within their finishing department/area:
??? Machine Shop
??? Welding/Fabrication Dept
??? Finishing Operations.
The position would suit a skilled engineer or someone with good basic engineering knowledge. They should have experience in man-management and the ability to supervise 3 Team Leaders and 55 employees.
In addition you would require a sound knowledge of production/manufacturing Health & Safety, and be able to organise the throughput of work to prioritise orders in order to meet customer delivery dates.
