Our client is a leading UK systems engineering consultancy with a highly regarded reputation for technical excellence. Due to the continued demand for their expertise and significant growth my client seeks a Materials Engineer specialising in Environmentally Assisted Cracking. This role offers you the opportunity to join a progressive company working on leading projects. The technical work undertaken in the group is varied but you are likely to be involved in the following:

Technical leadership of environmentally assisted cracking (EAC) projects
Analysis of materials test data to provide advice for component assessments
Development of constitutive models to describe complex material behaviour, e.g. creep, fatigue, stress-strain, fracture, EAC etc.
Analysis of non-linear materials including implementation of constitutive models in a finite element or similar numerical modelling environment

Qualifications and Requirements

You will have the ability to bring advanced knowledge of environmentally assisted cracking (EAC) to our clients. In particular you should be able to understand and communicate how EAC affects the life of components and assets.
You should have experience managing projects and test programmes.
You should possess a good degree in engineering or materials science.
You will have an excellent track record in the area of environmentally assisted cracking, which may be demonstrated through PhD qualifications and/or industry experience.
