Ogilvie have a requirement for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for their client, a major manufacturing company in Somerset. Reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Manager and as part of the Facilities & Maintenance Dept.

This is initially a 2 year contract position.

The ideal candidate will contribute to the effective maintenance of manufacturing processes & facilities that will contribute to the reduction and elimination of machine/process downtime.

The role

* Supporting production through rapid response and troubleshooting to correct faults/breakdowns occurring with processes and facilities and ensuring that the correct spare parts are available for key processes.
* Input and setting up Maintenance Schedules through the Planned PM System.
* Responsible for the safe and proper working conditions of facilities & equipment, recommending unscheduled maintenance when potential problems are recognised and liaising with contractors when required.
* Data collection for machines to understand key department metrics.

Main Duties

* Work with Production Engineers to improve production processes through fault diagnosis & moving of production processes.
* Daily completion of assigned Maintenance Schedules.
* Ensure that machine files & records are kept up to date.
* Ensure that machines meet legal requirements, using tools such as PUWER assessments to ascertain that they are compliant, after any repairs.
* Undertake relevant actions from 5S and recommendations from TIB.
* Support Maintenance of Site activities when required to do so.

Experience required:

* Completed time served apprenticeship or equivalent (ONC, HND)
* NVQ 2 in Mechanical skills
* Demonstrate experience and full understanding of 3 phase speed controllers - Desired
* Fault finding on plc and control systems (Fanuc, Mitsubishi)
* Full understanding of 17th Edition wiring regulations BS 7671:2008
* Full understanding of Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
* Experience in fault finding on CNC equipment (Citizen, Matchmaker, Wickman, Hardinge)
* Undertake machine modifications and improvements - Desired
* IPAF or equivalent licence to drive mobile elevated work platform
* Previous experience of a production environment
* Manage own work load to meet tight dead lines
* Communicate effectively with equipment manufactures to resolve breakdowns and identify replacement parts
* Obtain quotations, identify cost effective solutions and raise purchase requisitions
* Excellent fault finding and diagnosis skills on a wide range of plant machinery
