Job Summary
Our client is looking for an experienced Manual Machinist from a Fit and Null back ground to join the team at their facility based in Tewkesbury. Our client are focused on the customer and for them this means designing complex mechanical products that are often bespoke and high profile.
You will be expected to perform a range of operations on all types of BSA components on machines and processes which include manual Honing and lapping, deburring, hydraulic nulling equipment and chemical deburr equipment.
Using lapping and matched air gauging equipment, fits and assembles a range of body, spool and nozzle assemblies to clearance of less than 2 microns. Makes all types of set ups for which the incumbent has had training, including fixtures, programs, tools and null specification.
Key Expertise
- Work from manufacturing documentation which includes engineering processes and specifications and be observant for, and able to detect unusual conditions in the products, errors in documentation and defective material/parts
- Aerospace, automotive or related industry experience would be beneficial
- Able to confidently use all types of inspection equipment available to manufacturing, such as micro meters, microscopes, height and depth gauges, comparators and other metrology equipment
- Self inspection / self certification skills
- Apprenticeship trained
