We are looking for a unique individual to fill this new and exciting role at our new retirement village to be housed at the Somerdale site in Keynsham.

The Chocolate Quarter in Keynsham, is the Trust's fifth retirement village and is due to become operational from September 2017. With 136 apartments, a 93 bedded care home, restaurant, coffee shop, bistro and leisure facilities it will eventually be home to over 300 residents, employ over 250 staff and welcome many visitors from the local community. This role will therefore be pivotal to developing the operations on site and evolving the service as it grows.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Village Manager (Hospitality Operations Manager). As a key person responsible for the smooth running of the site, you will ensure excellent customer service across all aspects of the Chocolate Quarter development. Leading the Site Executive Team, you will promote the delivery of responsive and innovative services, liaising closely with residents and customers to ensure their needs are met and expectations exceeded.

Promoting a culture of collaboration and customer service excellence across the site you will ensure that the entire village is experienced by customers, residents, staff, volunteers and visitors as a positive and integrated community. For customers, visitors and residents living in the village, you will be the main senior point of contact on site for all hospitality led operational service provisions and management.
You will lead the key departments and line manage the Head Chef, Hospitality Team Leader, Activities Co-ordinator and the site Administrative function by developing collaborative relationships and clear lines of communication between care home and care at home colleagues. You will also chair the Site Executive Team which will comprise other relevant site managers, i.e. care home manager, care at home manager, head chef, hospitality team leader and other specialist functions and will have a set of local strategic aims and key performance indicators for which it is accountable.
To be successful in this role you will need a sound understanding and experience of managing complex hospitality operations either in hotels, events or large scale facilities management. The need for outstanding customer service is essential as is the ability to grow the commercial side of the operation. Collaboration with other specialist teams is paramount in the role (i.e. care teams, pastoral care, facilities) to ensure housing, care and support needs are met, monitored and evaluated for residents living on the site. This includes ensuring a consistent and welcoming introduction for residents moving into their new homes.
