Primary Relationships
The position reports to the Commercial Director and serves as a member of the senior management team. The role will involve line management of two direct reports, and an overall team of five staff members, and will be multi-faceted in terms of a focus on both marketing as well as media and communications within the business.

Personal Attributes
We are looking for someone who has relevant experience leading a successful marketing and communications team. Relevant experience with a sporting organisation is preferable although not essential. The marketing and media teams within the business are small, and therefore we need someone who has the scope the develop team members and inspire the team but also someone who can take on work for themselves.

Job Description

Below is a list of some of the key responsibilities of the role, the list is not exhaustive;

1. Ensure articulation of desired image and position, ensuring consistent and coherent communication of image and position throughout the club, and successful communication of image and position to all internal and external stakeholders.
2. Responsible for editorial direction, design, production and distribution of all publications.
3. Working with the media manager as the representative with the media.
4. Coordinate the appearance of all Club print and electronic materials such as letterhead, use of logo, brochures, and responsibility for maintaining and safeguarding the Club's brand.
5. Develop, coordinate and oversee programs, technical assistance and resource materials to assist different departments in the marketing, communications and positioning of their activities.
6. Provide counsel to different departments on marketing, communications and public relations.
7. Ensure that the Club regularly conducts relevant market research and coordinate and oversee this activity.
8. Lead projects as assigned, such as cause-related marketing and special events.
9. Overall responsibility for budget performance within the department, including setting of budgets with the finance team annually, and monitoring performance against agreed budget during the years, through negotiations with suppliers and ensuring value for money in services procured.
10. To create a 'corporate' marketing strategy and implementation plan, working with Programme Managers to identifying future opportunities for brand enhancement, and to ensure that marketing campaigns for all business areas are delivered to meet agreed goals. Key marketing campaign areas will include club membership and renewals, ticketing and event sales (including concerts), promotions of hospitality and non-match day events, and promotion of the community department.
11. To be responsible for all social media activity (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn) and managing corporate social media accounts and social media strategy
12. Management of two direct reports and two indirect reports, ensuring that clear objectives are agreed, and to develop sound working relationships with team members to ensure departmental objectives are delivered.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for someone who:

??? Has relevant previous relevant experience in Marketing and Communications management experience, preferably in sport or leisure
??? Experience of working with CRM based marketing systems and utilising these to drive decision making and revenue generation
??? Solid understanding of social media platforms, latest strategies and techniques and how to commercialise these;
??? Relevant education experience, preferably to a degree level
??? Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders and clearly communicate ideas, as well as ability to negotiate and influence.
??? Good copywriting skills and excellent attention to detail
