A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Process Engineer with our client, a leading designer of Hydraulic Systems based in Somerset.

Job Role

The Process engineer will join their successful Process Engineering Team supporting the Corporate WIN Strategy by assisting in the determination, developing and monitoring of various process-engineering activities consistent with team objectives of continuous improvement, NPI assistance and defect reduction.

Process Engineer Main Duties

* Review of capital equipment employed in the process to establish improvements & replacements requirements for capital plan, defining requirements, identifying potential equipment, assist in provisioning, planning & commissioning.
* Continuously improve the manufacturing process capability control infrastructure including generation or assistance in generation of: PFMEAs, routings, work instructions, Standard Work Instructions and control plans
* Continuously improve manufacturing process capability delivery including cycle time reduction, set up time reduction, tooling cost per piece reduction and defect elimination.
* Provide expertise to NPI projects from evaluation to Production sign-off following DFM principles.

Key Accountability's

* Safety, Quality Delivery KPI's - COPQ, FPY, Lead Time reduction, LISC, Backlog, Output.

Person Specific Requirements

* Assembly, Machining & component process experience preferably in Hydraulic production environment or similar product.

* Good Sound knowledge of assembly, precision machining, & manufacturing processes associated with hydraulic valve manufacture
* Experience in a manufacturing environment using MRP
* Lean principals - DFSS Green Belt or above (equivalent).

* Experience in Manufacturing Engineering including routing creation & modification would be a distinct advantage but training in this aspect can be given.
* Minimum Indentured Skilled with full City & Guilds, preferably with ONC / HNC.
* Basic understanding of Design Engineering requirements.
* Technical understanding of the product function to ensure Key product features & process are established
